STEPHANIE MILLS & EL DEBARGE
Y’all remember when El Debarge was the lead singer of Debarge, along with siblings, James, (Janet Jackson’s first husband), Chico, Mark, Bobby (March 5, 1956 – August 16, 1995) and sister Bunny. I can still hear the beats from their 1985 hit song “Rhythm of the Night” and their 1983 slow jam, “Time Will Reveal.” It was that song where Debarge showcased his strong falsetto. As a solo artist, he followed up with an upbeat tempo “You Wear It Well,” and the ballad “Who’s Holding Donna Now” both in 1985.Then he went solo and came out with “Who’s Johnny,” in 1986. He’s a five-time Grammy Award nominee. Then, he got himself into a bit of some legal trouble, Debarge is focused on making a comeback and that’s wonderful news for fans. He will be sharing the stage with along with the talented Grammy award-winning artist Stephanie Mills.
Ms. Mills scored the prestigious award in 1981 for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her song “Never Knew Love Like This Before” Soon after, it was hit after hit “(You’re Puttin’) A Rush on Me”(1987) and “Something in the Way (You Make Me Feel)” (1989). Before her Grammy success, she played Dorothy Gale in the Tony award-winning musical “The Wiz.”(1974-1979), where the song “Home” became her signature song and a radio favorite.
When these two giants joining forces, Valentine’s Day will be a day to remember. For one night only, bring your man, woman, partner or anyone else you truly love and have a great time.
